Kyla Burton had a three-run inside-the-park home run to lead the Lady Cougars to a 10-5 win over Harlan.
Heather Hatton added two singles for Letcher Central (7-1-1).
Junior right-hander Raimy Adams allowed six hits. She struck out four and walked four.
Letcher Central took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning. The Lady Dragons tied the game in the bottom of the inning.
Britney Jones walked and Brittany Smith singled as Harlan opened the inning. Jones scored on an error, and Smith came in on a wild pitch.
The Lady Cougars scored three runs on three Harlan errors in the third inning.
Kerri McCarthy reached on a fielder's choice and scored on a single by Brittney Freeman in the third inning.
Both teams scored twice in the fourth inning.
Letcher Central added three runs in the fifth inning on Hatton's home run.
Jones, Smith, Courtney Bell, Alexandria Allison, Alex Yount and Freeman each singled once for Harlan (5-5).
Emily Caudill (5-4) took the loss for the Lady Dragons. She struck out two and walked one.
“There's not many eighth-graders around that can pitch three games with her arm staying strong,” Harlan coach Chuck Mitchell said. “What a performance. Three games and to give everything she had in this hot sun. Not many eighth-graders can throw like that.”
Letcher Central opened the tournament with an 11-0 three-inning victory over Lynn Camp. The Lady Cougars claimed a 5-1 win over Cumberland (8-4).

Kelsey Day (8-4) suffered the loss for the Lady Skins. She walked six and struck out five.
Samantha Sexton paced the Cumberland offense with two singles. Natasha Pennington added a single.
Cumberland scored two runs in the seventh inning to down Harlan 6-5 in the tournament's first game.
The Lady Skins sent nine players to the plate in the third inning and scored four runs.
Harlan cut the deficit to 4-1 in third inning and tied the game with a three-run fourth inning.
The Lady Dragons scored once in the seventh.
Day gave up six hits and walked eight for the Lady Skins. She had four strikeouts.
Erika Wynn and Day each singled twice for Cumberland. Sexton added a double. Pennington and Samantha Sparkman added singles.
Caudill fanned 10 and walked one for Harlan.
Jones led the Harlan offense with a double and single. McCarthy added a double. Alex Yount, Smith and Allison each singled once.
The Lady Dragons took advantage of eight Lynn Camp errors and rolled to an 18-3 victory.
Samantha Smith led Harlan with two singles. Jones, Bell, Allison, Yount and Christis Miniard each singled once.
Caudill struck out two and walked three in the three-inning game.
Day pitched a no-hitter as Cumberland defeated Lynn Camp 14-7 in three innings.
Day powered the offensive attack with two triples. Collen Boggs added a triple and single. Kayln Carruba doubled. Shawna Short, Ashley Reynolds, Ashley Fields and Sparkman each singled once.
The Lady Dragons play host to Red Bird and Cumberland travels to Lynn Camp at 5:30 p.m. today in the first round of the All “A” Classic.

The Cawood Trojanettes were defeated by Burgin and Western Hills in the Bell County Invitational on Saturday.
Cawood committed six errors against Burgin and fell 8-7.
Courtney Lewis (1-3) took the loss for the Trojanettes. She had four strikeouts and one walk.
Heather Posey led Cawood with a triple. Charlene Drew and Brandi Hensley each singled once.
Cawood was limited to one hit in a 10-0 five-inning loss to Western Hills.
The Trojanettes were hindered by five errors.
Drew had a single for the only Cawood hit.
Erica Pennington (2-2) struck out two and walked two for the Trojanettes.
Cawood was limited with player. Nine showed up for Saturday's two games.
In unreported action tournament action from Friday, host Bell County downed Cawood 4-2.
Tracy Laws pitched a three-hitter for Bell County.
Pennington had two singles and Drew contributed one single for Cawood.
The Trojanettes committed six errors.
Pennington (2-1) suffered the loss. She recorded three strikeouts and no walks.
Cawood (3-5) is scheduled to travel to Knox Central for a doubleheader on Thursday. Monday's game at Middlesboro has been postponed because of testing.
