Rosspoint wins Burke tourney

Rosspoint captured the seventh- and eighth-grade title at the Mike Burke Invitationalon Saturday.

Drew Nolan had 14 points to lead the Wildcats to a 41-27 victory over Cawood in the championship game.

Paul Stapleton paced the Comets with 17 points.

Rosspoint downed Wallins 63-44 in the first round, while Cawood knocked off James A. Cawood 44-33.

Randall Meade and Treyce Spurlock each tossed in 12 points to lift Wallins to a 55-33 victory in the consolation game.

Dragons hold off Pineville

Noah Busroe fired in 18 points as Harlan edged Pineville 37-35 in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action on Saturday.

Tucker Woolum’s 21 points led the Mountain Lions.

Tyler Carmical and Kilian Ledford each had 11 points as Harlan won 34-16 in the seventh-grade contest.

Troy Barton recorded 10 points as Harlan rolled to a 35-3 victory in the fifth- and sixth-grade game.
