A Wallins man has been arrested on burglary charges following an investigation by Kentucky State Police into two incidents in the Coldiron community.
Zachary Brock, 31, whose address is listed by police as 1689 Hwy 3449, was being held in the Harlan County Detention Center on Friday in lieu of $2,000 full cash bond on charges of second-degree burglary and a 10 percent of $5,oo0 cash bond on the third-degree burglary charge.
According to the citation filed by Trooper Kevin Miller, Brock is charged with the Oct. 9 burglary of the home of Latasha Saylor on Brummett Drive in Coldiron. Miller said Brock entered Saylor’s home with the intent to commit a crime. He took a “memory card from the victim’s camera and went through her drawers. The defendant left a note for the victim while inside her home.”
Miller also charged Brock with third-degree burglary for taking property belonging to Lawrence Ward Jr., located on KY 3449 in Coldiron on Nov. 15.
Miller said Brock was seen by witnesses with several of the items in the back of his truck. The items included cattle racks.
Miller said a witness had stopped to help Brock reload the items onto his truck after they had fallen off onto the roadway on U.S. 119 . The witness did not know the items had been stolen at the time.
Brock took the items to Lewis Recycling at Molus to sell as scrap metal, Miller said.
Miller said he arrested Brock on Morgan Drive at Grays Knob at 1:05 p.m. on Friday.
