Harlan City Police Department officers responded to a two-vehicle crash on the U.S. 421 bypass Tuesday that sent one man to the hospital. Sgt. Michael Boggs said Douglas Lamb, 19, of Evarts, was operating a 2005 Pontiac when he pulled out from the Village Center Mall onto the bypass into the path of a 2006 Mercury operated by Venetis Saragas, 62, of Baxter. Lamb was transported by LifeCare Ambulance Service to Harlan ARH Hospital to be treated for his injuries. The crash remains under investigation by Boggs. He was assisted by officers Erik Saylor and Craig Miller and police chief Michael Thomas.
