Margaret Ann Beasley, 60, a native of Harlan and former resident of Sunny Acres, died Dec. 10, 2004, at her Park Ridge Lane home in Lexington.

She was the oldest daughter of Mary Blount Beasley, of Lexington, and the late Joseph King Beasley.

She was a member of Harlan Baptist Church and Calvary Baptist Church, where she served as deacon and member of the choir. She most recently attended Immanuel Baptist Church.

She graduated from Harlan High School in 1961 and Georgetown College where she was a member of Kappa Sigma Sorority. She was a former member of the Harlan Musettes.

She was an elementary teacher for 38 years, having taught in Newport News, Va., Gainesville, Fla., and at several Lexington schools including Harrison, Yates, Booker T. Washington and Julia R. Evans elementary schools.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by two sisters: Elizabeth Evans and her husband, Dave, Mount Sterling; Virginia Hay and her husband, Albert, Lexington, an uncle, Dr. Henry Clay Blount, Lexington, two nephews: Adam Voight and his wife, Lizzie, Santa Fe, N.M., and Jonathan Evans, Lexington; and four nieces; Virginia, Knoxville, Tenn., Mary Margaret Evans, Elizabeth Hay and Katherine Hay, all of Lexington, as well as several cousins and numerous friends.

Visitation will be today from 4 to 8 p.m. at W.R. Milward Mortuary on Broadway in Lexington.

Funeral services will be conducted by Dr. Craig Loscalzo on Tuesday, at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church, 3100 Tates Creek Road, followed by interment in the Lexington Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Gordon Samuel, Rankin Blount Jr., Adam Voight, Rick Brown, Dr. Tom Rice and Dave Winters.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Harlan Baptist Church, Lexington Humane Society, Immanuel Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.
