Michael Scott Short, 32, of Closplint, passed away suddenly, Sunday, June 17, 2012. He was born June 29, 1979 in Harlan and had lived here most of his life. Michael was a coal miner and a member of the Cloverfork Missionary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronnie and Peggy Short; his grandfathers, Milford Short and Milford Short.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Vanessa Witt Short; three children, Michael Blade Short, Michaela JoAnn Short, and Chyna Caudill; one granddaughter, Alyssa Coker; one brother, Mitchell Short; all of Closplint; his grandmothers, Wilma “Sissy Short, Morristown, TN; and Wilma Short Closplint; two aunts Diane Gibbons, Morristown, TN and Barbara Short, Cawood. And a host of other family and friends also survive.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 18, 2012 in the chapel of the Evarts Funeral Home from 5 until 8 PM

Funeral services will follow at 8:00 PM with the Reverend Mike Blair Officiating.

A grave side service will be held Wednesday, June 19, 2012 at 12:00 PM at Resthaven Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
