A native of Leslie County, he was a retired coal miner with 36 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during World War II. He believed in the Holiness faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Winnie Causey; his parents: Henry and Polly Jane Causey; three children: Oakley Causey Jr., Billy Causey and Beulah Causey.
Survivors include eleven children: Jim Causey and wife, Thelma, Hyden; Sam Causey and wife, Lucy, London; Raleigh Causey, Harlan; Olen Causey and wife, Elma, Tazewell, Tenn.; Eddie Causey and wife, Becky, London; Harold Causey and wife, Peggy, Wallins; Earline Watkins and friend, Tom Howard Jr., Coldiron; Polly Mitchell and husband, Arnold, Totz; Mary Hobbs, Atlanta, Ga.; Rose Mitchell and husband, Clarence, Corbin; Karen Rouse and husband, Tim, Harlan; 35 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several other relatives and friends.
Visitation is today and Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Doug Daniels and the Rev. Steven Daniels officiating.
Burial will follow in the Howard Cemetery at Rosspoint.
