Osborne indicted on drug charges

An Evarts man was arrested Tuesday on a warrant for drug trafficking charges.

Demetrice M. Osborne, 21, has two charges brought against him first and second-degree trafficking a controlled substance.

According to the first indictment, on or about May 28, 2004, Osborne committed the offense of second-degree trafficking a controlled substance.

Osborne allegedly sold two Lortab tablets for the sum of $14.

A second indictment states that on or about Aug. 31, 2004, Osborne committed the offense of first-degree trafficking a controlled substance.

Osborne allegedly sold one-half gram of cocaine to an informant for the sum of $50.

Osborne was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center with bond set at $20,000 full cash.

Osborne is scheduled to appear for arraignment on Oct. 28, before Harlan Circuit Court Judge Ron Johnson.

In other police action, the following people were arrested:

-- Shaun M. Burnette, 23, was arrested and charged with no or expired Kentucky registration receipt, failure to produce insurance card and operating on suspended/revoked operator's license.

-- Phillip D. Coleman, 42, was arrested and charged with theft by deception, including cold checks under $300 (six counts).

-- Debra M. Dillman, 41, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs (first offense), failure to wear seat belt, no insurance and license to be in possession.
