Phyllis Campbell Halcomb, 67, of Partridge passed away Sunday, July 12, 2009 at Holston Valley Medical Center following an extended illness.

Phyllis was a native of Hazard and lived in Partridge most of her life. She was a beautician and a member of the Partridge Lion’s Club. She was a volunteer for five and a half years at Cumberland Elementary School in the Kindergarten class and a Cumberland Elementary School Booster. She believed in the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Mary Magdalene Finley Campbell; one sister, Patricia Ann Roche; and one son, Robert Durham.

Survivors include her husband, Junior Halcomb, Partridge; a son, Michael Durham, Guntersville, AL; two grandchildren, Julia Lynn and Joshua Durham; a brother, Phillip Campbell and wife, Joann, OH; a sister, Penny Allen; special friends of Cumberland Elementary School, Tri City Little League, and Jenny and Jan Galloway; special sisters in law, Brenda Bowling, Wanda Lawson, a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held 6-9pm Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at Tri City Funeral Home in Benham. Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm Wednesday, July 15, 2009 in the Chapel of Tri City Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Scoville officiating. Interment will follow in Bowling-Eversole Cemetery in Partridge.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
