Skye Pruitt and two others have been indicted by a Harlan County Grand Jury for their alleged involvement in the Save-A-Lot store robbery that occurred on July 2.
Evarts Police Department officer Michael Lunsford executed three indictment warrants Saturday after nearly a three-month investigation of the robbery.
Lunsford said in a press release Monday, during the investigation it was alleged that Pruitt, 19, of Harlan, entered the Save-A-Lot store after it had closed some time after 11 p.m. and grabbed a female employee at knife-point and used the threat of force against her and two other employees. It is also alleged that Pruitt got away on foot with over $10,000 in cash.
“It’s alleged that Brenda Frith, 23, of Harlan, provided Pruitt with the knife that was used in the robbery and gave him a ride in a black 1995 Dodge pickup truck. It’s also alleged that Israel Blas, 20, of Harlan, Frith's boyfriend, assisted in planning the robbery and also provided the vehicle used in the robbery,” Lunsford said in the release.
Lunsford said Pruitt was charged with first-degree burglary, first-degree robbery, three counts of kidnapping, all Class B felonies, and theft by unlawful taking over $10,000, a Class C felony.
Frith was charged with complicity to first-degree burglary, complicity to first-degree robbery, complicity to kidnapping and complicity to theft by unlawful taking over $10,000.
Blas was charged with conspiracy to first-degree burglary, conspiracy to first-degree robbery, conspiracy to kidnapping and conspiracy to theft by unlawful taking over $10,000.
Lunsford was assisted in the investigation by Loyall Police Department Chief Chris Haught and Craig Miller of the Harlan City Police Department.
