Over 800 participants and 14 teams participated the ninth annual Relay For Life, with $29,102 being the unofficial total of money raised, according to local relay director Robin Shanks.

The Relay For Life was held Friday and Saturday at Huff Park in Harlan.

Several contests were held during the event.

The Harlan Nursing home won first place for the best campsite and most team spirit.

The First Baptist Church of Baxter took second place and Don's Super Saver placed third, along with being the winner for the most money raised.

State representatives Rick Nelson and Brandon Smith and state Sen. Daniel Mongiardo were guest speakers.

The theme of this year's relay was "Relay Rockin' For A Cure."
