Roy Martin Bradley, 75, Evarts, died Oct. 24, 2005, at Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital.

A native of Harlan, Bradley was retired from the engineering department with the Kentucky Department of Highways. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean Conflict, and he believed in the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Geraldine Fife Bradley; his parents, Charles and Martha Bradley; five sisters: Edith Hammons, Mildred Hammons, Lorene Renic, Louise Marchmonte and Kate Bradley; and two brothers: Walter Bradley and Charles Bradley.

Survivors include his son, the Rev. Donald Johnson and wife, Jerry Sue, Evarts; two sisters: Jewel Davis, Shelbyville; and Buddie Hill, Ohio; special friends: Tim Lipfird, Teresa Lipfird and Grace Tomlinson; and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be held today from 5 to 9 p.m. at Evarts Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 1 p.m. at the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Don Johnson officiating.

Burial will follow in Evarts Memorial Gardens with military rites to be performed by the Harlan Honor Guard.

Henry Shackleford, Josh Shackleford, Milford Eldridge, Tim Lipfird, Jim Skidmore and George Miller will serve as pallbearers.

Evarts Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
