The Harlan County Shriners 45th annual Horse Show and Fair is set to begin today at the Shriners Fairgrounds at Putney.
The horse show is scheduled for both Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 p.m. Registration for the event is expected to begin around 6 p.m. In addition to the horse show, various crafts and produce will also be judged on Saturday, with officials from the Harlan County Extension Service will serving as judges for the events.
Admission for the event will be $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 years old and younger.
The registration fee for the horse show will range from $8 to $25, depending on the events that are entered.
A portion of the proceeds generated from the horse show and fair will be donated to the Shriners transportation fund, while the remaining revenue will go to continue the organization’s operations.
