The Lillian Faye Simpson Southeast Scholarship Golf Classic, an annual event that generates much-needed funds for scholarships for deserving students wishing to attend Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College, will be held Saturday at the Sleepy Hollow Golf Course in Cumberland.

The event, an 18-hole, four-player scramble competition, will get under way at 9:30 a.m. with registration set from 8 a.m. until 9 a.m. Entry fee is $250 per team or $65 per individual and includes greens fee, use of a cart and lunch.

The grand prize will be a 2012 Buick Enclave 4WD sponsored by Creech Chevrolet, Buick, Pontiac of Harlan. The automobile will be awarded to the first golfer who records a hole in one at a designated hole. Additionally, a $600 cash prize with be awarded to the winning foursome with $400 going to the second place team. The third place unit will received $200.

Primary sponsors for the event Include: the Kentucky Coal Academy, CBTS, Xerox, Barnes and Noble College, Harlan ARH and Croushorn Equipment.
