Susie Irene Canady of East Highway 904, Williamsburg, formerly of Harlan County, Kentucky departed this life on Thursday, May 22, 2008 at her home in Williamsburg, Kentucky. She was born on August 17, 1910 in Whitley County, Kentucky to the late Henderson Hamblin and Easter Caroline (Hill) Hamblin. She was 97 years, 9 months and 5 days of age. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Franklin Canady; her daughters, Dorothy Wynn, Gladys Rains and Betty Penix and her sons, L.B. Canady and Bobby Eugene Canady.

She is survived by her five daughters, Geneva Froedge of Indianapolis, Indiana, Wilma Lay Gross and her husband Jerry of London, Kentucky, Mary Garrett and her husband Roger of Williamsburg, Kentucky, Ruth Coffey and her husband Earl of Williamsburg, Kentucky and Wanda Barton and her husband Robert of London, Kentucky; two sons, Lloyd Canady and his wife Mickey of Williamsburg, Kentucky and Jack Canady and his wife Carolyn of Indianapolis, Indiana; 57 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren and a host of other friends to mourn her passing.

Visitation will be after 5 PM Monday, May 26, 2008 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel.

The Funeral Service will be at 11 AM Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Anderson officiating. Burial will be in the Resthaven Cemetery in Keith, Kentucky.
