Ted Stewart

Early Thursday morning of September 27, 2012, Ted Stewart, 78 of Jones Creek went home to be with the Lord.

A retired coal miner, he spent his last days working in his yard, reading and enjoying his family. He was born on May 22, 1934 at Verda, KY to the late Jim and Dora Thomas Stewart.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers: Ulus Stewart, Hubert Stewart, and Ray Stewart; and two sisters: Pauline Dean and Carma Blair.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Yvonne Dean Stewart; six children: Kathy (Ralph) Whitaker; Treva (Jamie) Lewis; Debbie (Gerald) Jones; Teddy (Donna) Stewart; Connie (Darris) Wynn; and Stephanie Lewis (Jamie Stidham); thirteen grandchildren: Joey (Julie) Jones; Vickie (Justin) Earley; Mark (Randee) Wynn; Loni (Jason) Taylor; T.J. Whitaker; Robin (Joey) Burke: Jamie (Becka) Stewart; Rebekah (Brian) Short; Jill Lewis (Dustin); Maggie Lewis; Kyle (Kayla) Wynn; Racheal (Jake) Lewis: Joey (Casey) Whelchel; two sisters: Jill Cox and Janice Middleton; a very special brother, Curt Stewart; and twenty-three great grandchildren whom he loved dearly.

Visitation will be after 4:00 p.m. Saturday, September 29, 2012 until the funeral hour at the Jones Creek Church of the Living God.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Monday, October 1, 2012 at the Jones Creek Church of the Living God with Rev. John Luttrell and Rev. Paul Dean officiating.

Burial will follow in the Joe Dean Cemetery at Jones Creek.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearer will be a very special nephew, Mike Williams.
