Tilda Wynn

Tilda Mae Wynn, 88, of Shorttown, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at the Harlan App. Reg. Hospital. A native of Harlan County, she was a homemaker and a member of the Dartmont Baptist Church.

Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Mose Wynn, Sr.; her mother, Nancy Baker Gilbert; her father, Jim Gilbert; and three brothers, Lawrence, Elmer and Alex Gilbert.

Survivors include nine children, Ray Wynn and wife, Mary, Shorttown; James Monroe Wynn, River Ridge; Mose Wynn, Jr. and wife, Alice, Shorttown; Deloris Delphia Wynn Posey, River Ridge; Denver Wynn and wife, Melanie, Shorttown; Oscar Wynn and wife, Donna, Dewitt, KY; Wanda Wynn Tackett and husband, Chuck, Shorttown; Akles Wynn, Shorttown; and Marvin Wynn and wife, Cynthia, Shorttown. Also surviving are her sister, Delphia Vaughn, Evarts; 26 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 5 until 9 pm at the Evarts Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1 pm at the Dartmont Baptist Church with the Rev. James Sanders officiating.

Burial will follow in the Evarts Memorial Gardens. Grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Evarts Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
