Tri-Cities banquet scheduled Nov. 8

The Tri Cities Chamber of Commerce has announced the 2007 recipients to be honored at its annual awards banquet on Nov. 8. The banquet will be at 6:30 p.m. at the Benham School House Inn.

The guest speaker for this year's event will be former Harlan Countian Jerry Johnson, who is the chief operating officer of the Pikeville Medical Center.

Winners this year include:

-- Local Historian: Gertrude Nolan

-- Business: Hardee's of Cumberland

-- Media: Cumberland City Broadcasting, WCPM

-- Volunteer: Al Feher

-- Health Care: Britthaven of Tri Cities

-- Civic/Charity: Fields Masonic Lodge 832

-- Public Service: Harlan County Judge-Executive Joseph Grieshop

-- Education: Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College

-- Tony Turner Award: Harold Parsons and Don Parsons

Several display tables will be set up by local businesses. Music will be provided by Brian Blair.
