Kentucky State Police Sgt. Jason Adams said trooper Bryan Johnson was en route to a stabbing complaint Sunday night at Evarts and was traveling east on KY 38 at Brookside with his emergency lights and siren initiated when a vehicle traveling west crossed into his path to turn onto Wildcat Hollow Road. Johnson veered to the left to avoid a collision with the vehicle.
Johnson's cruiser went through a guardrail and the fence at the Evarts High School baseball field. Johnson's cruiser traveled a great distance through the field and flipped numerous times before coming to rest on its side against the fence on the opposite end of the field.
Johnson was treated at Harlan ARH Hospital for minor injuries.
