Two injured in crash on bypass

A two-vehicle crash on the U.S. 421 bypass Wednesday sent two people to the hospital with the injuries. Harlan City Police officer George Young said witnesses reported seeing a Oldsmobile Alero driven by Kristen Jones traveling south on the bypass, when a Pontiac Montero driven by Paul Hodges, of Benham, pulled into her path of travel from the Exxon exit. Young was assisted by the Harlan County Sheriff’s Office, Harlan City Fire Department and the Harlan County Rescue Squad. Jones and Hodges were both transported by Harlan EMS to the Harlan ARH Hospital.
