The following cases have been heard in Harlan District Court, Judge Jeff Brock presiding.

Evelyn Perkins, 35, second-degree burglary — waived to grand jury.

Carolyn J. Thomas, 30, second-degree burglary — preliminary hearing scheduled Oct. 22.

Rachel A. Brock, 27, second-degree assault — waived to grand jury.

Wayne D. Middleton, fourth-offense driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs — amended to third-offense driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, pleaded guilty, fined $1,158 and operator’s license suspended 24 months.

Chris Weedman, 25, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, third-degree possession of a controlled substance — waived to grand jury.

Fred S. Howard, 34, theft by deception (under $10,000) — dismissed.

Edward Reese, 25, driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, operating vehicle on suspended/revoked operator’s license, no operator’s/moped license, failure of non-owner operator to maintain required insurance, second-degree disorderly conduct, third-degree assault (police officer), two counts of third-degree terroristic threatening, menacing, failure to produce insurance card — waived to grand jury.

Betty R. Drew, 50, reckless driving, second-degree fleeing or evading police (in motor vehicle), second-degree wanton endangerment (police officer) — first charge, pleaded guilty, fined $183; other charges dismissed.

Debbie Hensley, third-degree terroristic threatening — pleaded not guilty, jury trial set Feb. 19.

Christopher Owens, 23, leaving the scene of an accident/failure to render aid or assistance, reckless driving, second-degree wanton endangerment — pleaded not guilty, jury trial set Feb. 5.

Heather Woodard, 30, driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, expired or no Kentucky registration receipt, expired or no registration plate, failure to produce insurance card, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security — failed to appear for hearing (bond set at $1,000 cash).

Eddie Reese, 25, failure to wear seat belt, license to be in possession — pleaded guilty, fined $75 (court costs waived).

Fred S. Howard, 34, improper registration plate, careless driving, driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, expired or no Kentucky registration receipt, failure to wear seat belt, failure to produce insurance card — pleaded not guilty, jury trial set Feb. 26.

Jamela L. Johnson, third-offense driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, instructional permit violations, expired or no registration plate, expired or no Kentucky registration receipt, failure to wear seat belt — first three charges, pleaded guilty, fined $1,083, operator’s license suspended 24 months and sentenced to 30 days in jail and driving school; other charges dismissed.

Kimberly Marie Huff, 26, speeding (14 miles per hour over the limit), careless driving — dismissed on repair and emergency.

Jonathan Wilson, 26, expired or no registration plate, expired or no Kentucky registration receipt, failure to produce insurance card, failure of non-owner operator to maintain required insurance, license plate not illuminated, improper equipment — failed to appear for hearing.

Jennifer Taylor, 31, speeding (nine miles per hour over the limit) — dismissed on warning.

Kevin M. Dixon, 35, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security, failure to produce insurance card — continued for arraignment.

Heather M. Bargo, 26, expired or no registration plate, expired or no Kentucky registration receipt, failure to wear seat belt — dismissed.

April M. Miller, 28, failure to wear seat belt, improper equipment — dismissed on warning.

April Johnson, 38, failure to wear seat belt, expired or no Kentucky registration receipt, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security, failure to produce insurance card — failed to appear for hearing.

Brandon L. Howard, 30, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security, failure to produce insurance card — continued for arraignment Dec. 3.

Joey D. Lewis, 31, failure of non-owner operator to maintain required insurance, expired or no Kentucky registration receipt, failure to notify address change to the transportation department, failure to register transfer of a motor vehicle — first charge, amended to no insurance card, pleaded guilty, fined $75 (court costs waived) on the first two charges; other charges dismissed.

Denver M. Ray, 46, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security, careless driving, failure to produce insurance card, failure to notify address change to the transportation department — first two charges, pleaded guilty, fined $550 (court costs waived); other charges dismissed.

Roger Ball, 57, failure to produce insurance card, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security, expired or no registration plate, expired or no Kentucky registration receipt — first charge, pleaded guilty, fined $50 (court costs waived); other charges dismissed.

Tiann Howard, 30, speeding (13 miles per hour over the limit), careless driving — first charge, pleaded guilty, fined $26 (court costs waived); other charge dismissed.

Virgil Craig, 29, operating vehicle on suspended/revoked operator’s license — pleaded guilty, fined $50 (court costs waived).

Eric R. Monhollen, 37, expired or no registration plate, expired or no Kentucky registration receipt — dismissed on proof.

Whitney L. Day, 22, no operator’s/moped license — pleaded guilty, fined $50 (court costs waived).

Kevin E. Weaver, 35, operating vehicle on suspended/revoked operator’s license — pleaded guilty, fined $50 (court costs waived).

Dustin R. Shackleford, 30, speeding (26 or more miles per hour over the limit), reckless driving, driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs — continued for arraignment Dec. 10.

Linda Dyer, 22, license to be in possession, failure to produce insurance card, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security, failure to wear seat belt — failed to appear for hearing.

Dakota W. Peace, 18, expired or no Kentucky registration receipt, failure to wear seat belt, failure to produce insurance card — first charge, continued for arraignment Nov. 5; other charges dismissed on warning and proof.

Daniel Boone Miller, 39, second-degree terroristic threatening — failed to appear for hearing.

Christopher C. Yount, 23, second-degree assault — preliminary hearing scheduled Oct. 29.

Jeffery Gambrel, 40, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, two counts of third-degree possession of a controlled substance, illegal possession of Legend drug, alcohol intoxication in a public place — preliminary hearing scheduled Oct. 29.

James N. Stevens, 45, first-degree trafficking a controlled substance — waived to grand jury.

Dewayne Shipman, 45, four counts of second-degree unlawful transaction with a minor, four counts of trafficking marijuana (8 ounces or less, first offense), four counts of trafficking a controlled substance within 1,000 yards of a school — waived to grand jury (bond set at 10 percent of $10,000).

Megan N. Shepherd, 21, theft by unlawful taking (shoplifting) — failed to appear for hearing.

Gloria S. Osbourne, 29, failure to produce insurance card, failure of non-owner operator to maintain required insurance, failure to wear seat belt, improper equipment — failed to appear for hearing (bond set at $500 cash).

Ebony Fields, 33, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle — dismissed at request of complaining party.

Melissa L. Mink, 28, no operator’s/moped license, expired or no registration plate, improper registration plate — continued for arraignment Jan. 28.

James M. Petrey, 53, second-degree stalking, alcohol intoxication in a public place — first charge, amended to disorderly conduct, pleaded guilty, fined $258.

Joseph A. Trushel, 28, failure of non-owner operator to maintain required insurance, license to be in possession, no operator’s/moped license — failed to appear for hearing.

Hiram J. Lamb, 35, operating vehicle on suspended/revoked operator’s license — pleaded guilty, fined $50 (court costs waived).

Melissa L. Mink, 28, no operator’s/moped license — continued for arraignment Jan. 28.

Gwendolyn Chandler, 41, third-degree possession of a controlled substance — failed to appear for hearing.

Billie Smith, 39, resident fishing without a license/permit — failed to appear for hearing.

Catise Latham, 27, endangering the welfare of a minor — continued for arraignment.

Chadie Jones, 32, two counts of failure to use child restraint device in vehicle, expired or no Kentucky registration receipt, failure to wear seat belt — first two charges, pleaded guilty, fined $258; other charge dismissed.

Jonny Simpson, 31, speeding (10 miles per hour over the limit), expired temporary plate, expired or no registration plate, expired or no Kentucky registration receipt — continued for arraignment.

Jacob B. Foley, 18, failure of non-owner operator to maintain required insurance, expired or no Kentucky registration receipt, expired or no registration plate, failure to register transfer of a motor vehicle — continued for arraignment.

Robert Vaughn, 46, expired or no registration plate, expired or no Kentucky registration receipt, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security, driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs — pleaded not guilty, jury trial set April 30.
