Redskins defeat Evarts

Andrew Creech fired in 16 points and Joey Swanner added 14 as Cumberland downed Evarts 63-26 in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action on Thursday.

Mamar Burkhart’s 14 points led the Wildcats.

Josh Burkhart poured in 26 points to lead Evarts to a 44-30 win in the fifth- and sixth-grade game.

Xavier Simmons paced the Redskins with 17 points.

Rosspoint holds odd JACES

David Turner’s 18 points powered Rosspoint to a 61-48 victory over James A. Cawood in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action on Thursday.

Steven Leath and Zack Scearse each had 13 points to lead the Trojans.

Garry Henson, Josh Turner and Hunter Helton each contributed 11 points as Rosspoint won 42-21 in the fifth- and sixth-grade game.

Trey Hensley’s eight points led the Trojans.
