Kilgore powers Wallins to win

Tabitha Gilgore fired in 20 points as visiting Wallins defeated Evarts 30-21 in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action from Monday.

Amie Partin led the Lady Cats with 10 points.

Morgan Blakley poured in 16 points as Evarts downed the Lady Devils 35-13 in the fifth- and sixth-grade game.

Hannah Wood led Wallins with six points.

Both teams return to action tonight. Wallins plays host to Green Hills while Evarts travels to Cawood.

Lady Skins knock off Rosspoint

Hannah Johnson had 13 points to lift host Cumberland to a 33-31 overtime victory against Rosspoint in fifth- and sixth-grade basketball action on Monday.

Kaitlyn Cornett tossed in 10 points to pace Rosspoint.

Cumberland will host Black Mountain today, while Rosspoint will entertain James A. Cawood.

Cumberland falls at South Laurel

The Cumberland Redskins dropped a pair of games at South Laurel in middle school football action on Saturday.

The Redskins fell 42-0 in the fifth- and sixth-grade game and 34-0 in the seventh- and eighth-grade game.

Both Cumberland teams play host to New Harlan on Thursday.
