Rev. Jerry R. Pierson, 59, Bledsoe, KY formerly of Sturgis, KY died Sunday Dec 2, 2012 at Pineville Community Hospital in Pineville, KY. Jerry was a former pastor in the Church of God of Prophecy. He had been a mine foreman at Unicorn and Black Mountain Resource Mines.

Survivors: Wife Yolanda Pierson – Bledsoe, KY; Parents, John & Birdie Pierson – Sturgis, KY; 3 sons, Jerry Lee (Lidija) Pierson – Warner Robins, GA, Gary Randolph Pierson – Sturgis, KY, Brandon Robert (Jessica) Pierson – Cumberland, KY; 2 brothers, Ricky Pierson – Sturgis, KY and Bobby Pierson – Sturgis, KY; 2 sisters, Venda McMackin – Mattoon, KY and Pamela Robinson – Henderson, KY; 2 Granddaughters, Brittany Lynne Pierson and Hallee Irena Pierson.

Funeral Service will be 10 AM Wednesday at the Church of God of Prophecy in Sturgis with Rev. David Johnson officiating.

Burial will be in Pythian Ridge Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-8 PM Tuesday at Whitsell Funeral Home in Sturgis and 8:00 AM until service time Wednesday at the Church of God of Prophecy in Sturgis.

A memorial service will also be held at a later date at Harlan, KY
