Billy Ray Smallwood, 57 of LaFollette, TN, formerly of Harlan County, passed away Monday, March 11, 2013, at the LaFollette Medical Center due to injuries from a motor vehicle accident. Born on February 28, 1956, in Bell County he was a retired coal miner and believed in Holiness faith.

He was preceded in death by his father, Elisha Smallwood; two brothers, Hillary Buddy Smallwood and Tony Smallwood; one sister, Wilma Jean Smallwood.

Billy is survived by his mother, Virgie Patterson Smallwood, Molus, one daughter, Leisha Smallwood Long and husband Calvin, Cumberland; his companion for over 30 years, Georgia Johnson, Harlan; four brothers, Floyd Smallwood and wife Connie, Cincinnati, Oh; Elisha Smallwood, Jr., Harlan; Jack Smallwood and wife Peggy, Jacksboro, TN and Ross Smallwood and wife Ginger, LaFollette, TN; four sisters, Alice Marie England and husband Paul, Molus; Vicky King and husband Garfield, LaFollette; Kathy Smallwood, Harrogate and Nadine Saylor, Loyall.

Also surviving are four grandchildren, Mark Long, Dionta Long, Corey Long, Treyvon Long and one on the way.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Loyall Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013 in the chapel of Loyall Funeral Home with Reverend James Earl Hensley and Reverend Freeman Clark officiating.

Burial will be in the Harlan County Memorial Gardens, Fresh Meadows, KY.

Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
