Wayne A. Dean age 66 of Closplint, KY passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2012. He was born October 17, 1946 in Allen Town, KY. He was a retired coal miner. He loved being in the mountains and basketball. He was a native of Harlan County and believed in the Baptist faith.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Noah and Minnie (Witt) Dean; one brother, Olin Dean; two sisters, Wilma Nantz and Evelyn Saylor.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Marie Harris Dean of Closplint, KY; daughter, Sandy Dean and fiance’ Junior Milwee of Closplint, KY; four grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Nikki Hawkins and husband Justin of Loyall, KY, Heather Allen and husband Frank of Ages, KY, Albert Milwee III and Bradley Milwee of Closplint, KY; two great grandchildren, Cameron Riley Hawkins and Emily Elizabeth Allen; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Arthur Harris and wife Sue of Cranks, KY, Irene Fox and husband Doug of Chevrolet, KY, Cassie Burgan of Cranks, KY, Louise Hensley of Harlan, KY, Dixie Rhymer of Cranks, KY, Stella Canterbury of Harlan, KY, and many dear friends.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, October 26, 2012 at 8 p.m. in the Chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home with Pastor Ed Jack Ford officiating. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Dean Family Cemetery in Allen Town, KY.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 26, 2012 from 5p.m. until the funeral hour at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home.
