An Evarts man faces a felony charge following an April 12 incident involving a car wash coin dispenser.
Chris Thacker, 19, was arrested by Evarts Police Officer John Teagle on Sunday and charged with first-degree criminal mischief.
According to the arrest warrant, Thacker unlawfully and intentionally or wantonly defaced, destroyed or damaged property owned by Malibu Enterprises LLC on April 12.
Thacker allegedly caused $1,750 in damages, including the coin dispenser at the Evarts Car Wash.
Thacker was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center on a $5,000 full cash bond.
In other police activity:
* Misty Lowe, 31, of Loyall, was arrested by Harlan City Police Officer Matt Cope on a charge of theft by unlawful taking.
According to the arrest warrant, Nathanial Howard states Lowe took various items including lawn furniture, a camcorder with charger, a Nintendo DS with charger and an estimated 70 boxes of shells from his home with the knowledge the items belonged to Howard.
Lowe allegedly pawned various items and was attempting to sell the shells when the Kentucky State Police were contacted.
Trooper Jason Young recovered some of the items and advised Howard to file charges, according to the warrant.
The Harlan City Police Department verified that Cope and Harlan City Police Officer Andy Soltess served Lowe with the theft warrant when they responded to a shoplifting complaint at Walmart. Lowe had allegedly stolen $78 in cosmetics from the store.
Lowe was arrested Saturday and lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center on a $5,000 bond requiring 10 percent cash;
* Daniel Coker, 47, of Evarts, was arrested by Evarts Police Officer John Teagle on Friday as a fugitive. Coker was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center without bond.
