Woman charged with promoting contraband

Staff Writer

A domestic dispute led Kentucky State Police to arrest an Evarts woman on multiple charges, including assault and terroristic threatening. Linda Taylor, 47, was placed under arrest on Friday at approximately 7 p.m. by Trooper Rodney Sturgill.

According to the citation, Taylor was involved in a domestic dispute with her husband Eddie Taylor. Eddie Taylor advised Sturgill that Linda Taylor hit him in the face and threw a full glass at him. The glass struck Eddie Taylor in the back.

The citation states once Linda Taylor was placed under arrest, she began yelling and cussing at her son and a friend for allegedly telling the police what she had done. Linda Taylor lunged at her friend, who was sitting in a chair, and attempted to grab her. Linda Taylor stated when she got out of jail she would kill everyone involved in sending her to jail.

The citation shows that once Linda Taylor arrived at the Harlan County Detention Center, jail staff located a bottle in her possession that contained several different drugs. Linda Taylor had a prescription for only one of the pills contained in the bottle. The bottle was discovered to contain four different types of pills.

Also stated on the citation, the detention center staff allegedly discovered three white rolled cigarettes with what appeared to be a green leafy substance in Linda Taylor’s possession. Also found was a Suboxone pack inside the medicine bottle. Linda Taylor was charged with fourth-degree assault (no visible injury), second-degree disorderly conduct, menacing, third-degree terroristic threatening, first-degree promoting contraband, prescription controlled substance not in proper container, possession of marijuana, second-degree possession of a controlled substance and illegal possession of a legend drug (a legend drug is any drug requiring a prescription).

Linda Taylor was lodged in the detention center and placed on a $25,000 full cash bond.
