Fire destroys residence at Coldiron

The Wallins Volunteer Fire Department responded to a structure fire at Coldiron just before midnight Saturday. It was first believed that people were inside the residence, but later discovered that they were not at home.
The cause of the fire has not been determined. Family on the scene said the residence belonged to John Stephens.
The Kentucky State Police and Harlan County Emergency Management Director David McGill assisted at the scene.
