The 48th Kingdom Come Swappin’ Meetin’ opened Friday on the Cumberland campus of Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College as hundreds of people came out on a lovely autumn day to take part in a variety of activities. Dr. Odell Wilson, SKCTC faculty member, entertained during the story telling event held in the Godbey Appalachian Center, while Linda Chandler, quilting demonstrator, explained and showed her techniques to Sherry Tinsley and Tammie Chapman. The event, that will conclude Saturday afternoon, will also feature the exquisite craftsmanship of broom maker Larry Counts and basket weaver Eleanor Smith.
