Harlan County Schools Family Resource and Youth Services Centers, the Harlan County Extension Agency and Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital hosted a breast cancer awareness program Thursday at the Depot in Harlan. Dr. Fazal Ahmad (above), the keynote speaker, explained warning signs and the importance of early detection. He discussed the various stages and types of breast cancers, treatments and preventive measures. He stressed the importance of self-breast exams for every woman.
