Staff Report
Police say they have found 14-year-old Madison Leeann York of Dorton Branch in Connecticut.
Bell County Sheriff’s Deputy David Cornelius said Thursday night that three people will be charged in the incident.
Cornelius said a warrant has been issued for David Hernandez, Lisette Ramos and Brendales Ramos. They are charged with first-degree unlawful transaction with a minor and custodial interference.
Bell County District Court Judge Robert Yoakum has signed the warrants.
Cornelius said the warrants have been faxed to Connecticut. The bond has been set at $1 million.
According to Bell County Sheriff Bruce Bennett, his office received the call at 1:20 p.m. from personnel at the Page School Center saying they had a student missing on Wednesday. Apparently, the student had walked away from school.
The sheriff’s department was also looking for a 1985-1990 Chevy conversion van, brown or tan in color with Connecticut license plates.
Bennett said his office investigated several tips from the public. He said the department received at least one report that the child was seen getting into a van with a 15- to 17-year-old boy and the man believed to be in his 50s.
The sheriff said he could not confirm or deny if the report is true.
The teen is now in the custody of the Connecticut police.
