A Loyall man was arrested on an outstanding warrant following a traffic stop on Wednesday.

Jason Williams, 36, was arrested by Loyall Police Chief Mike Lunsford on multiple charges after Lunsford ran the license tag on the vehicle.

“I was working highway safety and ran the tag and his name came back,” said Williams. “It showed he was wanted in the e-warrant system down in Bell County for first-degree assault and first-degree robbery.”

Lunsford said the warrant was taken out by Kentucky State Police Det. Bryan Johnson.

According to the warrant, Williams is accused of using physical force on Michael Reynolds to accomplish a theft where Reynolds wallet was taken, which contained $700. During the process, Reynolds was shot in the foot by Williams.

Williams was a passenger in a car being driven by his wife when he was arrested Wednesday.

Lunsford was assisted by Harlan Police Sgt. Mike Boggs and Harlan Police Officer Terry Jacobs.

Williams was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center on a $5,000 full cash bond.

Ireton was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center;
