During a check point on KY 72 at Gulston, Kentucky State Police (KSP) Vehicle Enforcement Officer Mark Scott inspects a 22-wheel tractor-trailer coal truck cited for having a flat tire while fully loaded with coal. Richard Gibson, 34, of Catrons Creek, was the driver of the truck owned by Roddy Trucking. Gibson said he was hauling coal from Jerrico Mining at Holmes Mill to Sequoia Energy at Liggett. Scott said the vehicle was placed out of service until the tire was repaired. KSP Vehicle Enforcement Officer Aaron Alexander cited David Bull, 29, of Harlan, for no semi-trailer plate, inoperative rear left turn signal, inoperative rear right turn signal, inoperative left and right tail lamp and a left and right side stop lamp violation. The vehicle, owned by Roddy Trucking, was empty after having dropped off a load of coal at Sequoia Energy in Liggett.
