Kentucky State Police, Post 10 Harlan executed an arrest warrant today for the arrest of Deron F. Saylor, 53, of Coldiron.
The arrest was the result of the warrant obtained by Det. Edward Abner resulting from an investigation stemming from Nov. 1.
The warrant charges state Saylor subjected a 14-year-old minor to sexual contact while being a person in authority. Saylor knowingly used an electronic device system to communicate and induce the minor to engage in prohibited activities. Saylor also allegedly sent obscene materials to the juvenile and provided the minor with alcoholic beverages. Saylor was arrested and lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center with a bond set at $20,000 full cash.
The warrant charges Saylor with first-degree sexual abuse, unlawful use of electronic means, third-degree distribution of obscene matter to minors and unlawful transaction with a minor.
In other police news:
* A Wilmington, N.C. man is facing a charge of receiving stolen property following his arrest on Wednesday. Harry Duval, 38, was arrested by Cumberland Police Officer Dale Halcomb after allegedly being found in possession of a stolen vehicle.
According to the citation, Duval was found to be in possession of a 2003 F-350 Ford pickup truck. The truck had been reported stolen from Oklahoma. Halcomb then made contact with the Broken Arrow Police Department in Oklahoma and got confirmation. Duval was placed under arrest at approximately 10:35 p.m.
Duval was charged with one count of receiving stolen property under $10,000.
Duval was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center without bond.
* Joshua Kennedy, 26, of Evarts, was arrested by Evarts Police Officer Owen Noe on a charge of second-degree trafficking a controlled substance. Kennedy was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center on a $5,000 full cash bond.
