Kaitlin Evans tossed in eight points to lead Black Mountain (1-0) to a 34-16 victory over visiting Cawood (1-1) in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action on Tuesday.

Miranda Skidmore had six points to pace the Lady Comets.

Katelyn Johnson poured in 32 points as Cawood (2-0) downed Black Mountain (0-1) 46-18 in the fifth- and sixth-grade contest.

Savannah Osborne recorded eight points to lead the Tigerettes.

Black Mountain will host Cumberland on Monday, while Cawood will travel to Green Hills.

In previously unreported action, Cawood defeated Cumberland 34-17 in seventh- and eighth-grade action and 28-23 in the fifth- and sixth-grade contest.

Hannah Johnson had five points to lead Cumberland (0-2).

Cumberland will visit Black Mountain on Monday, while Evarts will travel to Wallins.
