Harlan Circuit Court handled several arraignments Thursday, including three for receiving stolen property and one for custodial interference.
Fred Scott Howard, 34, of Baxter, Chandra Blevins, 29, of Baxter, and Bobbi Carlisle, 26, of Baxter, were arraigned separately by Special Judge Robert McGinnis on indictments resulting from alleged activities that occurred in February.
According to the indictments, on or about Feb. 8, Howard, Blevins and Carlisle each committed the offense of receiving stolen property. The indictments state all three defendants knowingly received, retained or disposed of property with the knowledge it had been stolen. They were found to have in their possession items belonging to Toadie Nunnelly and Mir Ali. An iPhone belonging to Lincoln Memorial University was also found among the stolen items.
According to a report, Howard, Blevins and Carlisle were arrested about a month ago on charges related to thefts that occurred in Middlesboro. According to Middlesboro Police Chief Jeff Sharpe, the stolen items were all taken from unlocked cars in the parking lot of Middlesboro Mall.
In addition to three counts of receiving stolen property counts, Carlisle’s indictment also included a fourth count of fraudulent use of a credit card. The card allegedly used by Carlisle belonged to Nunnelly.
Richard K. Davenport Jr., 18, of Loyall, was also arraigned Thursday on a one-count indictment charging him with custodial interference. The indictment alleges Davenport took a minor from her custodial guardian, Rhonda Rose.
