Dollar General to open at Coldiron

Staff Writer

The new Dollar General Store on U.S. 119 in Coldiron is expected to open in February.

Public Relations Manager Crystal W. Ghassemi said the site is currently under construction and a grand opening date has not yet been set.

The new 7,200 square foot store will employ six to 10 people, depending on need.

Anyone interested in applying may do so by going to the company’s web page at www.dollargeneral.com.

Dollar General now has 10,000 stores in 40 states. They also have 11 distribution centers. Their 12th distribution center will open in Bethel, Pa., in 2014.

Ghassemi said when you shop Dollar General, you join an effort “to make our communities and our world a better place.”

“Dollar General is committed to conducting business in a way that promotes healthy families, thriving communities and a cleaner environment,” said Ghassemi. “At Dollar General, corporate responsibility is built into our mission to serve others. By providing safe products, supporting our communities and enforcing environmentally-friendly practices, we proudly display the values that make our company great.”

“In Dollar General, you’ll find a company that embraces substance and simplicity,” she said. “Our mission is to serve others. And, we think our customers are best served when we keep it real and keep it simple. We build and run convenient-sized stores to deliver everyday low prices on products that our customers use every day. We have successfully done so for many years.”

According to Ghassemi, “We deliver a smarter, easier shopping solution accessible to more consumers. Our goal is to provide our customers a better life and our employees opportunity and a great working environment. Dollar General stands for convenience, quality brands and low prices. We design small neighborhood stores with carefully edited merchandise assortments to make shopping simpler. We don’t carry every brand and size, just the most popular ones.”

“Dollar General saves you time by staying focused on life’s simple necessities: laundry detergent, toilet paper, soap, shampoo, socks and underwear — maybe a gadget or two that you just can’t live without,” she added. “The average Dollar General customer completes their shopping trip in less than 10 minutes.”

Ghassemi said Dollar General promotes a spirit of involvement, and their mission is “to serve deep into the communities they call home.” She said through their charitable outreach, Dollar General “strives for a real and lasting impact on individuals and their families.”
