High winds reported in the Cumberland area Friday morning caused damage to a home occupied by Goldie Boggs in the New York section. National Weather Service Meteorologist Tony Edwards, in Jackson, said the damage most likely resulted from a “Mountain Wave,” which is wind funnelled into the valley from atop Black Mountain. He said he had no other reports of high winds in the county.
