The Annual Miss Harlan County Pageant went off with all its finery again this year naming Brooklyn Woods as the 2012 Miss Harlan County winner. The proceeds from the pageant go towards scholarships awarded to the winners for the college of their choice. The Pageant Coordinator was Sherry Baird from the Harlan County Extension Agency. The winners (above) are pictured, from left, second runner up, Taylor Lankford; first runner up, Katlyn Estep; 2012 Miss Harlan County is Brooklyn Woods; Miss Photogenic was Allison Layne and Miss Congeniality was Katharine Cohelia. The contestants opened the pageant with a group dance.
