A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on the Cumberland campus of Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College on Wednesday welcoming Harlan County’s National Hall of Fame for Mountain Artisans. College president Dr. Bruce Ayers (left), Hall of Fame Founder and Chair woman Rosezelle Boggs-Qualls (center) and college archivist Larry LaFollette cut the ribbon at the Edsel Godbey Appalachian Center where the Hall of Fame will be located. LaFollette said the Hall of Fame is a “wonderful addition” to all the other displays in the center. He said by having the National Hall of Fame for Mountain Artisans located on campus, it will draw attention to all the other “diverse and wonderfully talented” artisans of eastern Kentucky, who also have their work on display.
