Participating in the American Cancer Society’s “Jail and Bail” fundraiser at Food City in Harlan on Friday are from left: Harlan Fire Chief Linette Hutchison, morning forecaster and producer for WYMT-TV Brandon Robinson, Bank of Harlan Assistant Vice President and Loan Officer Dan Mosley and Eric Creech of Creech Chevrolet of Harlan. Nine others were scheduled for different times during the day. Phyllis Napier, Harlan County Chair for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, said the annual “Jail and Bail” fundraiser is a favorite among business leaders and citizens. She said participants try to raise at least $200 in order to be released from the makeshift jail. All proceeds from the event, which also included the sale of hot dogs, will be donated to the American Cancer Society. Funds raised on Friday will be split between Team Food City and Real Estate Agents United for a Care Relay for Life teams.
