A home owned by Margaret Rush, 68, of Highsplint, was destroyed by fire Monday night. Responding to the fire were the Upper Clover Fork Volunteer Fire Department, Evarts Fire Department, Harlan County Emergency Management Director David McGill and the Yocum Creek Volunteer Fire Department. McGill said after units left the scene, the fire re-ignited and the Upper Clover Fork Volunteer Fire Department was called back to extinguish the fire. He further reported no one was injured as a result of the fire and the cause is undetermined at this time.
