Emily Kelly Short, 92, Holmes Mill, died March 3, 2003, at her home.

A homemaker, Short was a member of the Pentecostal Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Blaine Short; six children: Mildred Louise Short, Edna Retha Short, Hazel Darlene Short, James Riley Short, Charles Short and Billy Ray Short; her parents, John W. Kelly and Lucinda Dixon Kelly; six sisters: Mint Short, Mary Short, Sarah Witt, Mag Lisenbee, Margaret Kelly and Ollie Caudill; and eight brothers: Hayes Kelly, Virgil Kelly, Corbin Kelly, Add Kelly, John Kelly, Floyd Kelly, Denver Kelly and Boyd Kelly.

Survivors include three children: Esther Mae Sizemore, Holmes Mill; Gene Short and wife, Pansy, Holmes Mill; and Clyde Short and his wife, Dorothy, Stanford; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted today at 1 p.m. at the Holmes Mill Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Kermit McQueen, the Rev. Greg Eldridge; and the Rev. John Pat O'Rourke officiating.

Burial will follow in the Evarts Memorial Gardens.

Nephews, family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
