He is preceded in death by his parents, George G. and Lydia E. Burnette.
Survivors include his wife, Urma Scott Burnette; his daughter, Lara Lynn Burnette, Lexington; and a brother, Bob Burnette, Corbin.
Funeral services will be conducted today at 2:30 p.m. at W.R. Milward Mortuary-Southland. Entombment will follow at the Lexington Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation or the Parkinson's Institute.
