Boggs, Langham power Dodger win; Fuson Logging rips Carpetmart

Thomas Boggs struck out 11 over five innings to lead the Dodgers past the Marlins 9-2 in Tri-City Little League action on Tuesday.

Kent Langham had a double to power the Dodgers offensively, while Boggs, Ryan Cope, Ryan Shepard, Scottie Sepe and Brad Sturgill each had a single.

Tyrek Simmons took the loss for the Marlins, but had a single for one of the team's four hits. Justin Brashears, Joe Lee Jefferson and Hogan Goodwin also added one single apiece.

The Dodgers return to action at 7:30 p.m. Friday against the Yankees. The Marlins play the Giants at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. ...

Chad Massengill had two doubles and a single while Andrew Dozier struck out seven as Fuson Logging rolled to an 11-1 win over Carpetmart in Harlan Little League play.

Ty Saragas and Jared Fuson each added a double for the victors.

Josh Shelton doubled and scored Carpetmart's only run in support of pitchers Trevor Ewing and Matt Bailey.

Ewing and Bailey combined to walk 11 and strike out six in the four-inning game.

Fuson Logging (10-4-1) returns to action on Thursday at 5 p.m. against Fuelco. Carpetmart finishes its season with a 3-12 record.
