James A. Phelps, 74, Wagner, Ohio, died July 9, 2003, at his home.

He was a native of Ridgeway, he was a retired stockman with Copeland Corporation.

He is preceded in death by his parents, David and Allie Johnson Phelps; a son; two wives, Thelma Benge Phelps and Roberta Vaughn Phelps.

Survivors include his son, Lee Phelps, Sidney, Ohio; three daughters: Linda Turner and Brenda McCarty and husband, Jeff, Sidney, Ohio; and Glenda Polser, and husband, Dave, Elida, Ohio; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; three brothers: Terry Phelps, Joe Phelps and Johnny Phelps, all of Sidney, Ohio.

Visitation is Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at Cromes Funeral Home in Sidney, Ohio.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Leamon Branscum and the Rev. James Hamblin officiating.

Burial will follow in the Shelby Memory Gardnes in Sidney, Ohio.

Memorials may be made to Wilson Hospice in Phelps' memory.
