He was lifelong resident of Harlan County and believed in the Holiness faith.
Helton was preceded in death by his father, Monroe Smith; and his paternal grandparents, Curt and Francis Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Sheila Simpson Helton, Cawood; a son, Curtis Monroe Helton, Cawood; his mother, Wanda Kay Helton Thomas, Williamstown; two sisters: Staci Jenkins and husband, Ronald; and Traci Vanwinkle and husband, Michael, all of Harlan; maternal grandparents, Goldie and Glen Helton, Coxton; one niece, Shannon Vanwinkle; and four nephews: Dekota Napier, J.C. Jenkins, Michael Vanwinkle and David Vanwinkle.
Visitation will be held today from 5 to 9 p.m. at Harlan Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the Faith Holiness Church at Smith with the Rev. Spencer Burkhart and the Rev. Gary Grubbs officiating.
Burial will be in the Britton Cemetery at Smith.
