The Lady Dragons picked up their second district win of the season, knocking off the visiting Evarts Lady Cats 25-18, 25-21 on Tuesday.
Juniors Dana Ray Trout and Crystal Fields led Harlan's attack in both games.
Harlan stayed in control through most of the first game, as Trout and Fields each served up four points to counter Amy Baird's six for the Lady Cats.
Shawna Ealy and Georgianne Tiu scored three service points each for the Lady Dragons.
The second game was a struggle for both teams. Harlan found itself in a 17-11 hole midway through the game and didn't pull even until the score was 20-20.
Fields then served up five straight points to seal the win.
Trout led the Lady Dragons' attack in the second game with six service points.
Baird and Joanna Buress each scored three for Evarts.
Harlan (4-12-1 overall, 2-4 district) returns to action at Whitley County on Thursday, while Evarts (8-6-1 overall, 3-1-1 district) will play host to Cumberland.
In the junior varsity matchup, Harlan improved to 10-3 on the season with a 21-5, 21-12 win over the Lady Cats.
Georgianne Tiu led the Lady Dragons in both games with a combined 15 service points.
Lady Skins fall to Corbin
The visiting Corbin Lady Hounds dropped the first game but held on for a 23-25, 25-21, 15-4 victory over the Lady Skins.
Cumberland used a balanced scoring attack to take the first game. Amber Maggard, Megan Hall, Ashley Creech and Samantha Sparkman each served up three points for the Lady Skins.
Corbin came back to edge the Lady Skins in the second game, despite a seven-point performance by Maggard.
In the third game, Cumberland's "defense just collapsed," according to coach Dillard Day.
Corbin capitalized and made quick work of the Lady Skins.
Hall and Maggard each scored one service point to lead Cumberland in the third game.
Cumberland (10-5-1 overall, 4-1-1 district) returns to action Thursday at Evarts.
