A native of Harlan County, Napier was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army. He was a member of the Yocum Creek Baptist Church at Evarts.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fate and Mary Elizabeth Jones Napier.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Rella Napier, Fourmile; a brother, Woodrow Napier and wife, Mary, Cleveland, Ohio; a sister, Polly Dean, Evarts; a sister-in-law, Irene Hubbard, Bean Station, Tenn.; a half-sister, Hazel Jackson, Arcaden, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1 p.m. at Creech-Durham Funeral Home in Pineville with the Rev. Murphy Buell and the Rev. Charles F. Jones officiating.

Music will be provided by Frank Shaw, the Evarts Baptist Church Singers and the Hensley Chapel Church singers.

Burial will follow in Pineville Memorial Cemetery.

Virgil Dunn, J.E. Dunn, Waylon Dunn, Kyle Dunn, Jimmy Hubbard and Sim Dunn Jr. will serve as pallbearers.

Creech-Durham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
